What We Do

At Greer Fire District, we are more than just an emergency response agency. Our team also works closely with the community by providing information, resources, and education. Greer Fire District takes fire safety very seriously.

Providing public services gives us an opportunity to learn about the residents living in the neighborhoods we serve.

Wildland Fire Suppression

At an elevation of 8,300 feet and surrounded by more than 2 million acres of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona's White Mountains, you can imagine how serious GFD is about protecting our forests and preventing wildland fires!

Wildland fire suppression is one of the most critical services we provide at GFD.  To assist us in this effort, we have multiple trucks that are equipped and designed just for our rugged terrain and difficult access areas.

Rescue Capabilities

With three main lakes in Greer (Bunch, Tunnel, and Reservoir), hundreds of miles of wild streams, rivers, and lakes in the surrounding area, GFD trains intensely in modern water rescue techniques to keep you safe.

Greer is famous for its many beautiful mountain hiking trails ranging from easy strolls to expert-level terrain. You can explore with confidence knowing that our fire and rescue personnel are fully prepared to handle any emergency that might occur and provide mountain rescue when needed.
